Compulsory education is the foundation of the strategy of invigorating the country through science and education, and it is important for the improvement of people's accomplishment, for the training of persons with comprehensive skills, and for the advancing of the socialism modern construction. After the policy of reform and opening to the outside world, our compulsory education has got great achievement. Since the"compulsory education law of the People's Republic of China"was carried out, we have actively explored the experience to develop compulsory education adapted to our current situations. Whereas, our country is in the important period for the rapid development of economy, and the difference of compulsory education among regions has caused much attention. As the compulsory education has been widely popularized, the harmony of education between eastern and western regions in our country is the key problem for the realization of education modernization and harmonious society at present. So, the difference needs to be focused by the government and society.This paper firstly brings forward the connotation of compulsory education and the importance of comparison between eastern and western regions in our country. And then, from the static point of view, the current situations of compulsory education between eastern and western regions are discussed. With this understanding, we studied the difference of the compulsory education between the eastern and western regions from the dynamic viewpoint. With this study, we discover that the amount difference between these two regions has been obviously reduced in recent years, but the obvious quality difference between two regions still exists.
