Learning strategies study calls more and more attention in education and educational psychology fields. To use learning strategies effectively is one of the important signals to identify whether a learner knows how to learn. Based on the review of learning strategies, English learning strategies studies and English teaching practice of the writer's own, this paper studies English reading strategies.Firstly, it deals with the ideas, features and basic classification of learning strategies. And it also has a discussion of the adoption of reading strategies the students should take to learn English well and develop the efficiency of reading. It aims to study not only the reading strategies the students take and the features under whole, but also the differences in using reading strategies between good students and bad students and the relation between reading strategies and their reading results. It is hoped that all the high school students can master effective reading strategies and find out the suitable reading strategies of themselves. Make good use of them in the process of practical studying in order to improve the abilities of language learning and communication.
