| Since the Third Plenary Session of the 11th Central Committee, along with the implementation of reform and opening door policy and determination of socialist market economy system, Chinese society has entered a all-round transitional period. Various social issues have surfaced, accompanied by rapid economic development. Juvenile delinquency is one of the major chronic illnesses. In recent years, China's growing phenomenon of juvenile delinquency has become a focus of community attention. From the nature of crime, juvenile delinquency is more serious than in the past, not in the increasing number and the proportion of crimes, but in the upgrading seriousness and danger of the offence. The proportion and degree of youth crime and violence have increased considerably, such as the rising proportion of murder, robbery, rape, vicious injury cases. Young people are the future of the motherland, the hope of the nation, and the socialist builders and successors. It is important to strengthen the training and education of young people and to prevent juvenile delinquency, which are related to the socialist modernization.As a mega-city, which leads China's reform, opening and economic development, Shanghai is different from many inner cities of the mainland in social environment. Violent crimes committed in Shanghai by the juveniles share the feature with many other big cities. This dissertation sticks to the basic principle that research of theory shall serve for the social practice, conscientiously reviews the evolution of the Shanghai juvenile delinquency and violent prevention course, discussing the reasons and conditions causing evolution of juvenile violent delinquency in Shanghai, analyzing the interrelationship between various factors and then makes corresponding measures targeted to eliminate these negative phenomena, thus eradicating conditions for juvenile violent crimes.It is divided into three parts, and has a total of 31,000-plus words.The first part, the evolution and trends for the Shanghai juvenile delinquency. The article recalled the changes, the increase in the quality of crimes, and the shifts of the criminal nature in the Shanghai juvenile delinquency according to the time. It also completely elaborates the evolution of the juvenile delinquency. It analyses the trends from different angles, such as the quantity, type, subject of the crimes, criminal organization form, means, places and various causes of Shanghai juvenile delinquency.Part II, the analysis of the causes of the evolution of juvenile delinquency in Shanghai. The article focuses on the specific types of the subjects of juvenile violent delinquency in Shanghai, characteristics of behavior and the characteristics of Shanghai as a metropolis. When analyzing young people's own situation, it focuses on the wrong aspects of the personality of young people and their deficiencies of the world outlook and outlook on life; In analyzing the social factors, in addition to the political background, economic development, family, schools, community and other factors, it focuses on the analysis of the impact bringed during the process of urbanization in Shanghai.
