The ongoing Eighth Elementary Education Course Reform will realize a historic transformation of middle school courses and primary school courses from subject-centered and knowledge-centered to the full-scale development of every one. Teachers' classroom management concepts and means may directly influence the effect of classroom teaching even course reform. Therefore, the renewal of teachers' management concepts and the improvement of their management means are undoubtedly worth concerning. Through researching related documents, this thesis, adopting several research methods (including investigation and observation, qualitative and quantitative), analyzes the reality of junior Chinese teachers' classroom management concepts and means mainly in Gansu mineral region. Then it points out the existing problems and puts forward the possible suggestions, aiming at how to adapt to the new demands of teaching and management and improve the level of them under the background of the implementation of new course reform. Besides, it provides scientific foundation about course reform and teaching management for education management departments in this region, which may promote the implementation of the new course reform and improve the level of classroom teaching. What's more, the analysis results may provide helpful references to other courses' classroom management and to related training institution. In quantitative part, this thesis inquires teachers and students around mineral regions in Gansu province by doing questionnaire and makes data statistics and analysis. There are following characteristics in junior Chinese classroom management under the background of new course. 1. The enforcement of new course actually brings conspicuous changes to the management of classroom. 2. Gender difference of teachers also brings changes to the management of classroom: female teachers are prudent and careful, paying more attention to the relaxation of students' mood and keeping the harmony of class atmosphere, while male teachers are confident and relaxed, paying more attention to students' individual and psychological characteristics .3. Teachers within 5 years or over20 years teaching experience pay more attention to classroom rules and teachers' dignity, while the ones at the range of 5-20 years teaching experience pay more attention to arousing students' initiative. 4. Teachers with middle rank professional job title are more democratic in the management of classroom and value more on teaching steps and smoothness of teaching. 5. Teachers from community college always urge the students to obey traditional classroom routine with the characteristics of "reservation", while teachers with bachelor degree prone to form a new concept and custom in classroom teaching on mutual cooperation with the characteristics of "construction". 6. The New Course Standard has great influence on teachers and schools. 7. In general, teachers' use of verbal and non-verbal art should be improved. 8. Students with average grades bear more psychological pressure in interpersonal relations than that of the top students. 9. With the relationship between teachers and students, students in grade 8 show more conspicuous sense of satisfaction, while students in grade 9 are not so relaxed in classroom. 10. Teachers in grade 9 devote themselves more to teaching but treat students not so fairly. In the qualitative part, after observing twelve open classes and regulated classes given by Chinese teachers, the author draws such conclusions: 1.Most teachers can actively explore and practice the new concepts and new means. 2. Some similarities exist in the efficient classroom teaching. 3. Great differences lie between open class and regulated class. (1) The problems of classroom discipline in open class appear less, thus management task is light; (2) The teaching efficiency of the open class and regulated class has a great distance, including teaching preparation, content arrangement, instruction design and problem solving approach. 4. In the process of classroom management, some problems still exist, such as the ignorance of the concentration for each student and of the change from passive situation to an active one.According to the research and the analysis result, associated with the concepts of teaching and management advocated by New Course Standard, the author lists out six major problems of junior Chinese teaching in the chosen region: 1.The traditional concept still influences many teachers in classroom teaching and management. 2. The inefficiency of teachers' management means leads to a distance between the expected aim and the factual result. 3. The development of all students cannot be fully considered. 4. The evaluation concepts are outdated and the evaluation means unvaried. 5. Teachers haven't a profound understanding of the new concepts, and to some extent, their practice just remains on the superficial level. 6. There isn't a full emphasis on the study and application of verbal art and non-verbal means. As to the problems mentioned above, six suggestions are proposed: 1.With the reconstruction of teaching management system, teachers' concepts should be changed. 2. Strengthen teachers' self-monitor strategies in regulated class and narrow the distance between open class and the regulated one. 3. Pay more attention to activate students' interests when designing teaching steps and materials. 4. Value the combination between the use of verbal and non-verbal art. 5. Strengthen teachers' training practice and understanding of the concepts of New Course by employing various ways. 6. Teachers should improve their skills of management through learning from each other.
