Alongside the deepending of the latest curriculum reform on history subject, new education concept makes greater demands on history teachers. The teachers of this subject should change their traditional teaching coception and inprove their style of teaching to adapt to new learning ways and new contents. Whether a history teacher has a correct understanding of his or her own role and changes it unceasingly during this reform will influence the enforcement of new curriculum. In the past two years, the history teachers in own school place themselves in the teaching situations as research workers in the enforcement of new curriculum. They also examine all kinds of problems during their teaching practices, ponder deeply over their own conduct and probe into the current questions and at the same time summnarize their own accumulated experience. In their teaching, our teachers lanunch a movement for research to make teaching and study "paragenetic and mutual-supplemental". We often discuss same questions in our teaching by sharing our own questions with others. We also offer help to each other. In this paper, I define new requirements for history teachers in new curriculum through arranging and analysing some teaching cases and consideration I have got. I approach the topic how to change a history teacher's role in carrying out the new course concept attemptly. I tentatively realize a teacher's role can influence his or her teaching behaviour directly and a teacher's behaviour can push forward to change his or her role.In the new cirrculum teaching, a history teacher's behaviour presents the following changes: guide the students to form a better study habits and master the tactics in study; create diverse teaching surroundings to stimulate students' learning activities and develop their interest of study; found an acceptable supportive and tolerant class atmosphere; share my own emotion and opinions with my strdents as a participant in their study; purse the truth with student and admit my own faults ans mistakes. So, history teacher's role also has changed: changing himself or herself from a knowkedge propagator into a promoter, cooperant, participant in students' learning and their healthy growth; changing himself or herself from a teaching order keeper into a guide for students' self-control and self- development, changing himself or herself from a concrete operator of history syllabus into a research worker for students' development and teaching practice.A history teachers' role changing is a process from suiting a new part to developing a new one and it's also a process growing in pace with his or her professional awareness and level. Adapting himself or herself to the new role in teaching for a history teacher doesn't mean he or she should abandon his or former role. It means he or she should position himself or herself again according to the law of history teaching ,and, basing on this ,form new history educationg behaviour.
