The male basketball reserves cultivating system in our nation is formed in 1950's. It is so called "the whole system". This system functions well in planned economy, for it provided higher level players while took less government investment. However, with the transformation of society and economy system,. Basketball as also faces the embarrassment of lacking qualified players. Therefore, the reserves cultivating system of basketball is changing as great progress in our society goes on.This thesis carries out studies on the situation and development of male basketball reserves cultivating system in our nation by means of literature, questionnaire, interview, statistic and comparison methods. From different aspects such as social, economical and educational, it tries to find out the reason for the lackage of male basketball reserves cultivating, and to give out suitable solution..This paper has certain theoretical and practical significance to the present situation and future development of male basketball reserves cultivating By comparing the status of the cultivating of male basketball reserves cultivating in our nation to that of United States, this thesis carries out detailed analysis. And it also provides method to improve the reserves cultivating system in the current economical situation. Based on the experience and practice of basketball game in our nation, the method introduces both suitable project for male basketball reserves cultivating system and valuable suggestions. This project inherits the original merits of our cultivating system, and takes the advantages of advanced experiences in United States.
