Self-confidence and mood are two psychological concepts that are closely associated with sports. The past research had emphasis on studying each of them separately the results cannot be comparative. Thus it is necessary to study the relationship between these two concepts to explore the degree of their correlation and the potential predictable relationship. If we could find that self-confidence could explain mood, this study would provide reference for later theoretical conformity. On the basic of a variety of literature, interviews and consultation, the basketball players'self-confidence and mood were measured and done with different methods of mathematical statistics. The results are as follows:1. Positive correlation exists between basketball players'trait self-confidence, state self-confidence and their positive mood while negative correlation exists between their trait self-confidence, state self-confidence and their negative mood.
