Based On Discipline Construction In Our Research Universities

Research University is the main force of higher education, which shoulder the historic responsibility of providing personnel support and contributing to knowledge and society. So, discipline construction of Research University assumes a core in development of China's education. Based on discipline construction in our research universities and compared with foreign universities through studying a large number of literatures, this paper outline the content, characteristics, the function and the principle of discipline and its construction in china's research university. With the experience in some of the famous universities abroad and the reality of our country, it gives some ideas of discipline construction of Research University. Also, idea of strengthening discipline construction in our country's key universities is proposed. And finally, the management mode of discipline construction is analyzed and added in the paper.
