The new turn of elementary education curriculum reforms takes "the initiative inquiring into study" as the core goal. Therefore, the methods of the inquiring studies of the biological concepts in the biology teaching were studied in the paper. The main methods of the topic research are the experimentation and the investigation. At present, the teaching of the biological concepts fundamentaly still was the mode of taking "teaching" as the center , the students are passive receivers which the teachers provide exterior stimuli, and their initiative and enthusiasm are difficult to be displayed in the study process. After reading some relative literatures of inquiring teaching and teaching methodology at home and abroad, the author elaborated the inquiring teaching theory. Being aiming at some defects wich present in the teaching process of biological concepts, the inquiring teaching strategy that is suited to the teaching of biological concepts was constructed, and some experimental study has been conducted. The constructing teaching strategy in the research is : (1) an explicit goal, the creation of the teaching situation; (2) a multimedia teaching, raising the efficiency; (3) independent inquisition, cooperative study; (4) the variant practice, studies for the purpose of application. The Z-examination was used to test the student's examinational result, and the studant's interest in the biology study was investigated. The results indicated that the inquiring teaching of the biological concepts are able to promote the student's understanding and grasp to the biological concepts, to raise the student's test result, to improve the student's interest in the study of the biology, and change studant's studying manner.
