Resource room is the important auxiliary method of learning in regular classroom(LRC) and it is the new trend of special education's development This research paper makes a simple contribution to the development of resource room through the theory of support education. The study was aimed at (1) exploring the recent situation of resource room in China; (2) analyzing the functions of resource room; (3) dissecting the basic functions the resource room should be equipped with; comparing the difference between the theoretical and practical functions; (4) establishing an evaluation system,verifying the evaluation system by case studies; (5) finding out rational recommendations for the development of resource room.The subjects were 50 persons from six resource rooms in Sichuan,Chongqing and Beijing, including 7 resource teachers,14 normal teachers,3 administration staff,16 students and 10 parents. The instruments used in the study were the Resource Teacher Self-assessment Forms,Resource Teacher Function Questionnaires from Taiwan and series of other questionnaires as Resource Room Function Questionnaires. The data was analyzed and verified by using case studies assessment.The result of the study indicated that: The establishment of the resource room in China is fairly normalized and has formed into a rational mode. The difficulty of resource room are having not enough funds and the teacher's specialized level is insufficient, lacking multiplication evaluation for resource room, lacking the support of policy and law. During the research, I statement nine basic functions of resource room from the three aspects of service, such as study counseling, training, drafting IEP, providing the information for teachers, inspection and diagnose, technical support for teachers, service for guardian, training for guardian, training for teachers. Study counseling is the most important function. From the theory of special education, resource room will supply service for children with special needs, teachers and guardian. However, the best aspect in actual education is the service for students, which is the same as the goal of resource room. In other words, it indicates that the service for guardian and teachers are neglected. This research paper established an evaluation system for resource room and explicit the target for evaluation, exposition the methods of evaluation and the explanation of score. At the same time, the research pointed out that it is very important to having advanced viewpoint of special education, increasing teacher's ability, organizing the team of resource and using resource fully for consummating the functions of resource room.The sample was not sufficient and the researcher have not enough time and energy to do this , so there are much insufficient in it.
