As social informationization continuously accelerates, educational informationization has become an inevitable of history. The application of information techniques has made some impact on students' learning behavior and methods, teaching modes and the result. At present, our economic unbalance has been affecting investment in basic education, condition of running a school, and persons qualified to teach, leading to greater and greater distance of education between city and country. We have to face such realities: for a student individual, educational level has become a crucial factor for one's status, employment, and income; and for society, development of country relates to the developing course of our nation, and so the educational level of country students relates to general quality of the nation and development of the nation and society. Modernization of our education will not come into being without modernization of country education. Under the great difference of social resources, equal opportunity for education is the only hope. Application of information techniques to teaching in country high school will be an important way to share high-quality resources and reduce distance in education between city and country.The development of Information Technology Application in Instruction (ITAI) can be divided into two stages: Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) and Information Technology Application in Instruction (IATI).According to the actual situation of Longnan, the study emphasizes particularly on Computer Assisted Instruction.Aiming at "A study on the present situation of application of information technique to biology teaching in the high schools of Longnan country and its countermeasures", a survey, adopting such methods from facts as looking data up, questionnaire, interviewing, etc, is made of basic equipment collocation of the information technique education in the high schools of the Longnan country, of basic circumstances of the biology teachers, of the application state of information techniques to the biology teaching, of information cultivated manners of the teachers, of their condition to apply information techniques to biology teaching, of the teachers' attitude to training of information techniques, of its necessity, and so on. Among the inquisition objects are 21 high schools and 40 biology teachers, with questionnaires returned from 36 teachers and 152 students.During the investigation, several problems are found as follows: (1) scarcity of teaching equipments, (2) poor ability of the teachers to apply information techniques, (3) low status of biology in the stage of the 9-year compulsory education, (4) shortage of professional biology teachers, and (5) weak support from the managers. To solve all the problems, provided are the countermeasures and suggestions.
