Primary schools and junior middle schools are two stages of basic education of our country. They are separate to join each other. Since 1990s, with the further development of the foreign language teaching, more and more primary schools began to offer English lessons, but because of numerous reasons, the quality of English teaching of primary school is still not fully up to expectations now. Especially the problem of connecting of English teaching is more and more outstanding .English Course Standard (experiment draft) of our country made by National Ministry of Education had already been announced formally in 2001.It reflected the brand-new education ideas: Face all students, pay attention to quality-oriented education; Stress student's subject, respect the individual difference; Emphasize the learning process, and advocate experiencing and participating in; Pay attention to the course and appraise, emphasize the ability development ; Develop course resources, expand the space for study. Under the New Course Standard, according to the laws of language and the teenagers' physical and psychological development characteristic ,how to make students form the good English study habit? How to train the students' ability of using English ? How to make all kinds of students excessively reach the English level of Middle School? Then lay a sturdy foundation for the English study in the future, and realize the continuity of the foreign language teaching of middle and primary schools at last? This is the question that every English educator of middle and primary schools must think.Taking the theory of New Course Standard , Social Constructivism , Multiple intelligences ,Psychology of Foreign Language and Metacognition as the theory bases, through the investigations into the connecting of the English teaching of the primary and junior middle schools, this research is analyzed the current situation of it and the reasons of existing problems. It has also expounded the ways and countermeasures from many aspects of teaching junior English well under the new course standard.This research is to arouse more English teachers to the concern of the connecting problem for the English teaching of the primary and middle schools. Let's explore together, try to get more and better effective methods, avoid the waste that causes on manpower, material resources and time, and realize the continuity of English teaching of the primary and middle schools.
