Research On Sex-education Managementin Senior High Schools: Taking Central Areas In China As An Example

The 21st century sees the speeding-up of China's reform and opening-up drive and the development of a market-oriented economy, but also the emergence of a variety of changes in social values, moral standards and different ways of life. Meanwhile, dramatic changes have taken place in the physical and mental growth of the juveniles. The period since the 1990s is one when the Chinese society takes on a drastic new look and one that also witnesses the emergence and progressing of puberty education in China. During this period, sex education has developed rapidly in some major cities, yet, China's vast central and remote areas seriouslly lack qualified teaching personnels, relevant written materials and, because of the working of different factors like social surroundings, there has been virtually no or little education on sex covered in school curriculum in most areas of China. Thus, China's central and remote areas have fallen far behind others in terms of sex education, and this backwardness is shown in lack of hardwares, facilities, ideological renovate, teaching methods and especially in lack of supervision of sex education.Therefore, to promote the development of the society, it is of practical significance to improve supervision of sex education in senior high schools in central areas.This essay, based on an adequate survey involving a case study on the supervision status quo of sex education in four high schools in Y city of H Province, summarized the existing problems and comes up with some applicable correction measures to improve the situation.This essay is divided into four parts. The first part covers a brief overview on supervison of sex education at home and abroad. The second part involves a thorough investigation, which took four schools of different educational levels as examples to study the superivison status quo of sex education in the central area of China. The third part summarizes all the existing problems while the last part puts forward some practical measures to the education supervision work in the central area of China.
