The school-centered developmental supervisory evaluation system contributes to forming the school's mechanism of lawful autonomous development, heightening the school's overall management level, elevating the functions of education and supervision, and transforming the functions of educational administrative departments. Apart from these outstanding contributions, however, some problems with the system have arisen as well. This paper is an attempt to shed light on the significance of the school-centered developmental supervisory evaluation system in terms of its contribution to promoting the school's autonomous development. Then, some problems with the supervisory evaluation system will be addressed. In addition, some proposals will be provided for improving the supervisory evaluation system. This paper consists of six parts.Part 1 is a brief introduction of the aim and content of research on the school-centered developmental supervisory evaluation pattern, which promotes the school's autonomous development as well as its implementation of the policy of education for all-round development.Part 2 provides a literature review of the school-centered developmental supervisory evaluation system, clarifying relevant research backgrounds (theoretical as well as practical backgrounds), definitions, concepts, as well as principles of supervision.In Part 3, a case study of the school-centered developmental supervisory evaluation system is presented. Using Xin Guang Middle School as an example, this part dwells upon the objectives, the operational mechanism, and evaluation methods of the supervisory evaluation system. Besides, an in-depth analysis of the significance of the supervisory evaluation system is carried out.Part 4 centers on the problems with the supervisory evaluation system, which come up in practice, in terms of the legal system construction, the evaluation mechanism and the quality of the education and supervision team.Part 5 offers some proposals with regard to the improvement of the school-centered developmental supervisory evaluation system. Based on the analysis of the problems in Part 4, this part provides such suggestions as accelerating the legislation of education and supervision law, carrying out an in-depth investigation into the operational mechanism of the supervisory evaluation system, improving the quality of the supervision team, and enhancing the professional level of the supervision team.Part 6 conclusion: concluding on the whole article and putting forward the direction of follow-up research.
