These years, with the continual and deeper reform of teaching material and teaching and learning methods, it comes to the main tendency to lay stress on fostering and improving of the comprehensive quality with listening, speaking, reading and writing, which all kinds of schools have been carrying on. However, we know, speaking ability is the out-put of language learning, based on the efficient in-put of language learning. And it is our terminal goal to clear away the drawbacks occurring in the oral English communicating. It is one of our English teaching tasks, especially in rural senior schools. In my study, I choose two class which I was teaching as samples of rural middle schools to make research. They are similar to all kinds of the rural middle schools: the majority came from the less-developing rural area on economics and education. Their English communicative competence falls behind that of the students from the urban area. So I found it necessary and urgent to study the oral English drawbacks in the rural senior schools.The aims of my study arc that I want to change the prejudice on the oral English teaching. Based on this, I'll help these teachers and their students to provide some efficient measures to clear away the oral English drawbacks. Thus we can improve the students' oral English level and their interest in English. As a result, it is likely to promote the English-learning abilities of the rural senior students.The causes of the poor oral English of the rural senior students lie in many aspects The English teachers ignore the oral English teaching, the students lack language communicating environment. There are too many students in a class. The students get little time or few chances to speak English in or after class. Most students have some communicating psychological barriers and they also have little English culture backgrounds.
