| All the universities which cultivate the first-class talents have the complete art education in the world. Proved by the practice, the art education place a very important role which is unsuitable by scientific education in talent cultivation. In our country, the art education is one of the important part of quality education.As a basic quality, the art quality is not the patent of comprehensive university and professional art institutes any longer. In recent years, the public art education in the science and engineering universities developed very rapidly, all the people realized the values of the art education which are social value, cultural value and educational value. By considering the particularity of the public art education in the science and engineering universities, this paper puts forward the orientation of art education in the science and engineering universities. But the public art education in the science and engineering universities are still in the weak link and has many problems. This paper presents the current situation and mode of the public art education in the science and engineering universities and puts forward the reasons of the problems existed currently such as the old concept, the lack in knowing public art education, the quality of the teacher team is not high, the public higher education deviates from its original orientation, the pressure from the advance subjects, the lack of scientific teaching and management mode and the deficiency in knowing the culture nature of art education.The art education in America is developed and colorful from which we can learn . The forth part of this paper introduces the current situation of art education in Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Compared with the art education in America, we can get some implication as followings: Regarding the art as the core courses, enhancing the investment on art education, intensifying the research on art education by linking the success and fail of art education to the national prosperity and strength. Then, this paper put forward a unified and harmonious art education mode. This paper also elaborates the mode in details from the six aspects of education goal, education management, education method, education courses, education sources and evaluation. The final part of this paper puts forward some countermeasures how to ensure the operation of public art education mode in the science and engineering universities. |
