A Study On The Learning Web Theory Of Ivan Illich's

The research on the functions of education is considered as the essential part of the research of educational theories. These years, the researches on functional substitutes of school education also have been greatly increased. A lot of theories and practice indicate that when there is a lack of school education or when school cannot fulfill its function for some causes, other social institutions will perform the equivalent or lacking functions instead of school in order to meet of demands of social functions and maintain the development of society. Although many researches on functional substitutes of school education from home and abroad have made clear that a few new educational patterns appeared in 1970s such as Learning Web, Free School, Home Schooling, Alternative School etc. can fulfill the lacking functions of school education substitutablely, yet more researches indicate that among all those patterns, Learning Web is the one with most profundity, integrality and far-reaching influences. The Learning Web Theory was followed by the deschooling movement happened in 1960s and it was a new educational pattern based on the criticism of school education. The founder is the world-famous educator and social critic named Ivan Illich who is not only the founder of Learning Web Theory but also the main representative of western educational futurology. The Learning Web Theory takes significant effect on the western educational revolution in 1970s, and it still has great value and reference meaning to nowadays-educational revolution as well, meanwhile the systematic research in this field is rare from home and abroad.The following research consists of six parts.
