Research On The Mainland Chinese Students Abroad Singapore In The Contemporary Era

The tide of studying abroad is becoming one of the most widespread phenomenons of transnational human resourses flowage. Earlier Chinese students with intent to study abroad mainly went to western developed regions such as North America, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Europe, while the tide of studying abroad Southeast Asia emerged relatively lately, chiefly after 1990's. As an international developed country, Singapore has become the main residence of the Chinese mainland students flowing into Southeast Asia. More than 3% of the 300, 000 students sent aboard by the government of China got to Singapore for studying. In some sense, studying the case of Chinese mainland students in Singapore is typical for the research on the Chinese overseas students in the whole Southeast Asia. Taking the Chinese mainland students in Singapore as the research objective is of great practical significance for the analysis of the problems of the Chinese overseas students in Southeast Asia. In contrast to the Chinese students in the United States, Europe and other developed countries, Chinese mainland students in Singapore as a comparatively independent unit has it's special properties in its constitution, its styles of studying abroad, its motive for studying abroad etc. As a result, it is of great significance in theoretic .to study the issue of the Chinese mainland students in Singapore from the point of view of transmigrates.
