The education in China's rural area has been experienced a breakthrough development ever since the reform and opening-up. However, the unbalanced development has brought severe challenges to the consolidating and upgrading of the "Two Bases" the in education in the rural area. Hence, the "Educational Revitalization Action Plan - 2003-2007"- issued by the Ministry of Education in February 2004, calls upon to strengthen the implementation of the "Two-Bases" in the western rural area by leveraging the implementation of "Construction Project of Boarding Schools in Rural Area". The construction of boarding schools in rural area has ever since become the key measures and significant guarantee for the implementation of "Two-Bases" nationalwide.Based on this background, the study was executed in the forms of site investigation and questionnaires in seven rural boarding schools, namely Shangsi, Ningning, Rong'an, Bobai, Beiliu, Liujiang and Rongshui scattered in North, Middle and South of Guangxi, wedged in by the status quo, using the interview syllabuses self-designed for the "Education Departments in Charge", "Leaders of the Boarding Schools", questionnaires of "Sustained Development of Boarding Schools in Rural Areas (subtitled for General Condtion of the Schools, Teachers, Students and Parents). Based on the data collected and facilitated by SPSS quantified analysis, from the macroscopical and microcosmic views, the thesis analyses the internal and external environments of the boarding schools in rural areas, discussing the targets, principles and the models for the boarding schools in the rural areas, presenting the strategies appliable for the boarding schools in Guangxi rural areas, hoping the provide the realistic guidances for the healthy development of the basic education in Guangxi rural areas.The thesis has three parts:Part One gives a general description of the boarding schools in Guangxi rural areas, discussing the the significance of the sustained development theory against the the boarding schools in rural areas. Part Two deals with the analysis based on actual situation of the boarding schools in Guangxi rural areas, using the self-designed interview syllabuses and the the questionnaires from the in seven rural boarding schools, based on the quantified data analysis, from the macroscopical and microcosmic views, the thesis analyses the internal and external environments of the boarding schools in rural areas, discussing the targets, principles and the models for the boarding schools in the rural areas.Part Three, based on the study of the literature, site investigation, interview and the integrated data analysis, summarizes the suggestions to the sustained development of boarding schools in rural areas. Characteristics of the thesis:A) Using the self-designed interview syllabuses and the the questionnaires, i.e. the interview syllabuses self-designed for the "Education Departments in Charge", "Leaders of the Boarding Schools", questionnaires of "Sustained Development of Boarding Schools in Rural Areas (subtitled for General Condtion of the Schools, Teachers, Students and Parents),B) Adoption of questionnaires to obtain the quantified data of the external economic, culture environment and internal management, and analysis of the data by the facility of SPSS11.5 software package.C) Based on the study, discussing the targets, principles and the models for the boarding schools in the rural areas and bringing forward the relevant suggestions.
