Service learning has risen and developed for many years, which focus on the combination of service and learning to form the personal responsibility and relevant knowledges and skills, it also takes an important role in the citizenship education practice. At the present time, many countries and areas including America, Canada, Singapore and Taiwan,Hongkong have practiced in different levels and achieved series of theories. Analysing and comprehending their experiences will be good for our education practice. Therefore, this article attempts to learn something from other countries' theories and practices.There are 4 chapters in this article:The first chapter expatiates the meaning of service learning and its theoretical background, also introduced the practice in America, Japan and Singapore.Chapter 2 expatiates the meaning of citizenship education and the operation and function of service learning during citizenship education process with international view.Chapter 3 discusses the operation of citizenship education of China in the view of service learning, attaching the cases:By learning the three chapters, we put forward the problems in the present service learning practice to obtain the citizenship education goal process and corresponding advices in future in the 4th chapter.
