The institution of principal responsibility system and school-based management make people realize how important the principal is. As the leader of the school's reform movement and development, the principal is greatly concerned by researchers. Researchers view the principal as the main object of educational science in all objects. From 1980s, with the influence of cultural management, people who work in education system gradually to realize the importance and necessity to take cultural management treasures. To construct influential school culture has become the essential means for a school to promote itself. Actually, the process of constructing school culture provides us a valuable background to study the principal's leadership behavior. For a long time, researchers just concern about the quiescent match between the principal's leadership style and the type of school culture. Even if some researchers mentioned how the principal should do to construct school culture actively more than adapt it negatively, their discussion is very macroscopic, which is difficult to practice. So, it will be significance to discuss how the principals should moderate and perfect his leadership behavior according to the practice of educational administration.This thesis is composed of three parts. The first part is preface. In this part, we will introduce the background of the thesis, the signification, the relevant research achievement, and the research program. The second part is the main body, which includes four sections. Section 1:Definite some relevant concepts, including the school culture, the construct of the school culture, the principal's leadership behavior and so on, briefly discuss the relationship between constructing the school culture and principal's leadership behavior. Section2: Introduce the background of the typical school firstly, and then analysis the principal's behavior during constructing the school culture according to the survey from four aspects: substance culture, behavior culture, institutional culture, and spiritual culture. Section3: Deeply study the successful typical school from following aspects: the factors that influence the principal's leadership behavior in the process of school culture construction; the principal's leadership behavior; the effective principal's leadership behavior which can be inferred from the successful examples while constructing school culture. Section4: Make the conclusion about the process of the principal's leadership behavior, including background-analysis, choice of behavior from options, and adjustment according to the changed condition. The last part points that we should apply to the relevant conclusions according to the complex and unstable environment, not to make it became rigid.
