Mathematics is a kind of subject born by the real world and real life. The application of mathematics is becoming one of the most important problems which are concerned by the mathematicians and mathematic educators. And, the teaching methods of application problems gain more and more focus because they are now one of the most important aspects of mathematic education. While, there are still many shortages in the education situation of math. As time goes by, the education of mathematics application problems has formed a procedure as 'reading, finding the conditions, finding the relationships, writing down the expresses, answering', and the model of application programs was fixed by the never changing examples on the textbooks. This kind of situations must be changed in recently, and we need a totally revolution to change the education method of application problems.In this research, the author tried to find out some teachers thoughts about application problems in some aspects as the teaching conditions in recent math education, the examples which used by the teachers, the feelings of the teachers about the textbooks, est. by questionnaire investigations of 87 high school teachers and individual interviews to several teachers. Besides, the author also did a small exam to 295 students from three high schools the aims of which is try to find out the ability of students' solving original questions and making up mathematic application questions. There are some conclusions hereinafter:1. The teachers want to pass through the difficult of teaching application problems, but they are hesitating to have a beginning;2. The teachers consider teaching original problems as a good way to teach students, but they don't know how to carry it in to execution;3. The students ability of solve original math problems is not very good, their ability of collecting math problems in real life is also not very strong;4. The students' abilities of solving un-open original-created questions will be strengthen when they are in high grade, but the abilities of solving open original-created have no change.5. The ability of finding mathematic problems and construct the model is still in a low level.To change this kind of recent conditions of application, we mathematic educators must try our best to find a new way to solve the problems emerged in mathematic education; we should update the teaching methods of application problems; we need pay important attention to students' mathematic ability; we also need to apply modern educational technology in mathematics teaching properly.
