How to improve the effectiveness of mathematic problem solving? Student's general procedure isto imitate teacher's solution or example questions to solve similar questions, or make more practice and grasp more problem categories. Teachers always satisfy that students can copy teacher's strategy or method. In fact, students can remember the required knowledge easily.Such above ways only encourage students'rote memory and easily copy in mathematic study. The polarization of mathematic problem solving ability is universal during the period of preparation for senior middle school entre test.In this paper, we hyposized that mathematic problem solving instruction combining with metacognitive instruction and motivation inspiring may be important to improve students'mathematic achievement. During the course of preparation for senior middle school entre test, teacher should reveal the procedure of solution formation, attempt exploration and deviation correction, infiltrate the accumulation of metacognitive experience and the practice of metacognitive ability through teaching process. Inducting students to practise , conclude and apply problm solving methods , to analyze typical problem solving procedure, and to improve students'development of noumenon autonomic consciousness , are all efficient approaches to strengthen their problem solving abilities.Our instruction training results indicate that:1. Metacognitive instruction can significantly improve students'mathematic performance and their metacognitive ability. The change of each dimension of metacognition is not synchronized. The strategies of planning and reflecting may be accepted easily by students.2. The performance progress is more significant in the group accepting metacognitive instruction and motivation inspiring. After training , although the change of students'motivation is not significant on the whole, the changing of idea and self efficiency is significant. The effect of metacognition training may affect the students'beliefs firstly, then affect their motivation. The power, method and time of training may also influence the effect of motivation inspiring.As a whole, our result favor the conclusion that metacognitive instruction can strengthen students'motivation , the metacognition is also restricted by the motivation. In mathematic teaching, metacognitive instruction should be better to practise combining with motivation inspiring and idea instruction in order to exert the interaction of these factors .
