Modern society, the state and national competition is in fact the competition of talented people.Basic education plays a vital role in the cultiation of talents, and Mathematics education is one the mostimportant part in basic education. At the beginning of the twenty-first Century, most countries and regionsin the world carried out mathematics curriculum reform. China promulgated Curriculum Standards forMathematics in the Full-Time Compulsory Education (Experimental Version) in2001, and began toexperiment in some part of the country. The new curriculum standard with the former teaching syllabusdiffers a lot,and the efforts and effects of this curriculum reform are large.In the past ten years, Some changes have taken place in the our country conditions, which resultsproblems in the new curriculum reform in the practical teaching, especially the problems happened inmathematics teaching in rural middle school.This article firstly carries out analysis and summary on mathematics curriculum reform incoutryies like United States, Britain, Japan, Korea, Singapore and regions as Hongkong and Taiwan. Then,the problems in rural middle school mathematics teaching in Henan Province is summarized basedquestionnaire survey, informal discussion, personal teaching experience of the author to rural schools.Finally, some suggestions and methods to solve these problems are put forward, according to the reality inrural areas, and lessons draw from foreign successful experience and failture.
