The Research On How To Optimize The Process Of Carrying Out Students Rating Of Teaching In Schools

Students' Rating of Teaching (SRT) is kind of work with great profession and technology. Whether it can be effectively organized and carried out will have direct effect on its results, not only on gaining the rating results but also on how to use it. Through the analysis and survey, we find that the 8 years' practice of SRT in Z school J city has played little role in teachers' teaching or students' studying, and it even has negative effect on teachers' development or teaching improvement. The leading cause of it lies in that SRT process has not reached the certain standard.SRT process in this thesis contains all the procedures, including the preparation before SRT, such as setting the SRT goals, setting up the organization structures, defining the rating targets and so on; also including the organization during SRT and the analysis and the use of the results after SRT.Through theory and practice, it is proved that an optimized and standard SRT process is good to put SRT into effect, ensure the management of carrying out the SRT and strengthen the control of the SRT. So, if there's a standard process model, following which all the schools carry out the SRT strictly, the SRT will have its real effect. However, we are lack of such research.Therefore, it is urgent to study how to standard present SRT process, and it is necessary to make it scientific and even an institutionalization. This study puts forward some effective suggestions and strategies on the basis of surveys and researches of the individual school, through analyzing its shortage lying in its SRT process.The study has reached such conclusions: In order to make the SRT have its real effect, we should optimize its SRT process, and make it scientific, standardization and institutionalization. While such process should be founded on as follows:1. Building up right concept about the target. To make sure all the relative members including the leaders, organizers, teachers and students pay enough attention and treat it properly: As leaders, they should have an idea that SRT is a kind of driving mechanism accelerating the teachers' development more than a ladder of management.2. Establishing proper system. It includes establishing special evaluation center, constituting scientific procedures of carrying out SRT, and building powerful supervision structure.3. Consummating necessary procedures. Deleting some necessary procedures will affect the results of SRT. Such procedures should not be deleted as "designing the SRT project ", "mobilizing and training the relative members", "giving an pre-evaluation" , "making timely feedback ," "giving element evaluation" and "establishing evaluation archives" and so on.4. Accelerating the communicating between the estimators and relative members. Give them adequate training and sufficient communication, to make them actively take parting in it and cooperate with few mentality errors.
