The self-concept is a perception by one towards himself/herself. It takes a multidimensional and multifaceted structure, which branches into sub self concepts within certain field. And academic self concept, also with a multidimensional and multifaceted structure, is an evaluation by one on his/her academic achievement. It is not only an important psychological outcome from student educational environment, but also an effective mediator to enhance academic performance and social achievement. The casual relation of academic self-concept and academic achievement is mutual and changes as one is maturing. Student in vocational school who is at the end of their childhood are psychologically experiencing a second birth and what's more influenced by academic atmosphere of the vocational school. Their attitude, motivation, psychological state and expectation are greatly influenced by past academic foundation, present educational support and academic atmosphere of the school. Hence the importance of studies on their academic self-concept.Based on preceded study and considering a lack of inquiry on the accuracy of student's academic self-concept, this thesis follows the method as t analysis ,multi scale testing , and tests 49 vocational school students plus 52 high school students from the same town with Multidimensional Self-concept Scale, Skill Rating Survey and two tests. The conclusions are figured out as following:1. The mean score of self-concept of vocational school students (VSS) is significantly lower than that of the high school students, while their tendency to exaggerate their real achievement is stronger.2. The mean score of Skill Rating Survey of vocational school students is lower than that of the high school students (HSS), when significantly higher comparing to that of their parents.3. An overestimation occurs both in vocabulary and math tests.4. Both VSS and HSS take student of the same grade in his/her school as the reference group.5. VSS are tend to be more sensitive on judging their performance and sticky to their averestimation preference.
