Problem-solving which was firstly applied to the field of education by an American educationist John. Dewey is of vital importance in psychology. With the target of problems, it is an advanced process of intellective activities in the form of exploration and ideation. Under the new curricula background, not only students' mastery of knowledge but also their capability of problem-solving should be highlighted in class. Therefore, it is necessary to discuss the teaching strategy of problem-solving for one subject.Helping students find solutions to calculation problems is a key part and a difficult part as well in chemistry teaching in senior middle schools. Based on teaching experiments, the dissertation mainly discusses the problem-solving teaching and students' capabilities of calculation. After summarizing the contents, types and common technologies of chemistry calculation problems in the high school, the dissertation using relevant theories brings forward several problem solving modes in chemistry teaching as follows: emphasizing conceptual teaching, classifying and modeling, revealing ideation process, varied exercise, and training metacognition and so on. The teaching experiment takes two similar classes as samples, teaching the second year students relevant calculation parts, and then makes use of special mathematical methods to analyze the result finally coming to the conclusion that the problem-solving mode is beneficial to students' development of calculation in chemistry. Moreover, it can help increase the teaching efficiency and students' capabilities of calculation. The problem-solving teaching strategy which is applied to teaching chemistry in high school, concentrates on the major parts, such as chemistry concepts and principles, the springing of the awareness of problems, and cultivation of students' studying capabilities in the long run. Consequently, teaching can contribute to promoting the shift of students in their learning style and helping students study efficiently, thus leading students to achieving evolution and progress in subject attainment and integrated quality.
