It is gradually realized by many educators that curriculum standard creates a basis for compiling teaching materials, doing teaching work, evaluating and arranging exams, and even for managing and estimating the curricula to the national extent. After the foundation of new China, there is absolutely no curriculum standard but teaching outline based on limited theoretical foundations, which in some sense ignores the essence and marrow of western psychological education. In 2003, the emergence of national high school physics curriculum standard signified an important milestone of Chinese high school physical education. As a result, the new curriculum standard for physics would have a crucial impact on educational reform in China. In 2005, new teaching materials directed by the curriculum standard have been printed, evaluated, and ultimately accepted by Chinese ministry of education, so that these brand new ideas, thoughts, methods are supposed to be extensively been utilized in modern physical education in Chinese high schools.The most striking feature of the new textbook is that a lot of creative and advanced physical knowledge have been added, which largely improves the quality of teaching materials. Obviously, the inevitable reform is also a big challenge not only for physical researchers but also for high school physical teachers.Instructed with educational and psychological theory, this thesis systematically investigates the key features of physics frontier knowledge in the new textbook. Through carefully analyzing the present situation of physics frontier education in senior high school by means of questionnaires, this thesis finally comes up with the basic principles of implementation, policies of teaching and methods of evaluation.The physics frontier knowledge education will have great influence on Chinese physical education in high schools. The teachers, who take on the responsibilities of nurturing and teaching next generations, must practice the whole life learning concept and master the advanced knowledge. The fifth chapter in this paper introduces two interesting subjects about physical frontier knowledge, such as the universe and quantum mechanics, which illustrate the corresponding educational achievements in order to give some illuminations and inspirations to all physical teachers in high schools. And the sixth chapter proves that the two teaching designs are effective.
