In the era of knowledge economy of the 21st century, the essence of our fundamental education is to improve the people's quality and foster more creative talents. The traditional education model which mainly imparts and inherits knowledge is unable to meet the needs of the new century and is turning into the modern education model concentrating on not only knowledge, but also ability and quality. It becomes an important mission for the fundamental education to form the Creative Education model which aims at cultivating the talents of innovation spirit and ability. Geography Education, one of the most important subjects of China's fundamental education, is a significant component of the overall quality education. Since the concept of Creative Education was proposed in 1990s, few schools have really carried on the Creative Education and got a prominent achievement. Among the causes, the incompleteness of the Assessment of Creative Education is an important one. The Assessment of the Creative Education is indispensable to bring the Creative Education into effect, and without which there will not be really Creative Education of Geography. In the view of the theory of education assessment, we present a scheme to value the Creative Education of Geography so as to promote the development of Geography Education in China.This paper is organized as four parts. The first part we discuss presents the basic connotation and contents of the Creative Education.In the second part, we mainly explain the basic theory of evaluating the Creative Education of Geography. The Assessment of the Creative Education, which is based on the objective system guided by the Creative Education value and use the modern humanism and mathematical technology to analyze the variant of education system, is a process to judge the value of the individual and society in the Creative Education.In the third part we discuss the evaluation on the Creative Education of Geography in terms of four aspects: the work of the Creative Education of Geography, teachers, classroom teaching and the overall quality of students, and draws up an indicator system and evaluation scheme for evaluating the Creative Education.In the last part, we summarize the work of this paper including the principle, standards and contents of the Creative Education of Geography, and point out the perspective and the shortcoming.
