With more concerns about student activity development in education circles since 1990s, the study of student involvement and participation in classroom teaching has become a hot issue. Student involvement, seen as the characteristics and strategies of developmental teaching as well as the basis for students activity, therefore becomes the symbol of the new national reform of curriculum and its study is of great significance in the classroom of music appreciation in high schools.This paper briefly expounds the concept, development, theory, characteristics and classification of student involvement. A questionair is made on the students present musical experience and their involvement in high schools. Based on constructionalism and synesthesia and analysis of the result, I have found four main reasons for inactive involvement in classroom of music appreciation. They are complexity of music themes, inadequate aesthetic prepacation at the earlier stage, different apprecidtion levels and interests of high school students. Then I put forward some measures to be taken, such as to encourage students to be actively involved, to increase their musical awareness, to offer more introduction to establish a setting for students'involvement, to provide more ways like listening, singing, thinking, talking and lomposing and to choose and arrange teaching materials in a more reasonable way. Finally comes the requirement for teachers who are to get students involved in classroom of music appreciation.
