Learning and memory are higher intelligent activity of brain,it is one of the most characteristic physical feature of higher animal and human.Improve the ability of learning and memory,prevent and cure diseases on learning and memory is a major task of explore hunman intelligence potential.Rencently,people have paid more attention to winter swimming.Research finds winter swimming is benefits for cardiovascular system, respiratory system,immune system,endocrine system. Research finds proper physical activity could improve the ability of learning and memory.Whether winter swimming could improve the ability of learning and memory by coordinate the content of acetylcholinesterase (TChE)? There was no research at home and aborad.The research had had a training that mice were force to swim in cold water namely winter swimming for twelve weeks,to investigate the effects of winter swimming on learning and memory ability in mice and its possible mechanisams.Sixty mice were randomly divided in to three groups,respectively Control,Warm and Cold.Control group were bred normally,no interference. Warm group swim only one time each day in 25℃water for 1 minute.Cold group swimonly one time each day in 4℃water for 1 minute.After 12 weeks,the performances of learning and memory of mice were tested by a step-down passive avoidance task.Then killed the animals and extracted hippocampus.The serum of TChE,SOD CAT and MDA were detected.Results:(1)There were no obvious hyperirritable reaction in the period of training in the Cold group.Ten weeks after training, group of Warm andControl appeared gradual consenescence, while the Cold group is as good as before. (2)The performances of learning and memory in the Cold group was significantly improved as compared with Control group and Warm group(P < 0.05或P < 0.01).Compound winter swimming decreased the total electric shock in mice(P < 0.05),cold group had longer latency and less error times in memory test in mice(P < 0.05或P < 0.01).(3) The serum levels of TChE and SOD and CAT in hippocampus of mice in Cold group was also significantly higher than those in the Control group and Warm group(P < 0.05或P < 0.01),while the serum level of MDA in the Control group and Warm group were higher than that in the Cold group(P < 0.05或P < 0.01).Conclusion:(1)Long proper winter swimming could improve learning and memory abilities of mice.(2) Winter swimming could improve the ability of learning and memory by coordinate the content of acetylcholinesterase (3) This effect may be related to the decreased activity of TChE and the increased activity of anti-oxidatio.
