There were four domains in ART Course Standard in Compulsory Education: experience and appreciation, expressions, creativity, ART related culture. Experience and appreciation is an important domain in ART learning. It is a foundation of the whole activity of ART learning, and a valid approach to develop student's ability of ART appreciation. Although traditional ART curriculum included the content of ART appreciation, great change exist in the New Standards. So, it's needed to review traditional practice in ART appreciation teaching from the view of New Standards, and to develop a series of new teaching patterns appreciated for the new component of experience and appreciation. It will be useful to development student's ART appreciation.In this study, the value and content about ART experience and appreciation in New Standards were analyzed. The difference between New Standard with traditional teaching was compared. Twenty year's practices in ART appreciation were reviewed by literature analysis. Appreciated strategies were developed for correspondent components in New Standard. Action research techniques were used to developed these strategies. As a result, suggestions for future teaching practice were provided.
