In the 21st century, with the development of science and technology, we have stepped into the Information Age and the Knowledge-- Economy Age. Nowadays in order to survive and develop, we must rely on knowledge and intelligence because knowledge information is the resource of the strategy. In this kind of society, the productive factors that push the future forward are not the capital and land, but knowledge and the qualities of human beings. The basic education takes the most important task to improve the qualities of the whole nation in the economy and the whole national powers competition.History, as an important social and cultural subject, to adapt to the requirement of the day and the development of the society, is now changing and reforming as well as using the new teaching opinion and new learning methods. If we want to bring up a new generation who are creative, we must educate some students with the comformity of knowledge and ability of creation. The effective combination of geography and history knowledge will have a positive effect on the students both in their knowledge and their abilities. This article is based on the experience of the author and others to analyze in different parts the purpose, significance, principle, method and some problems in history teaching in the middle school, which aims at developing the students'geography concept and sense in learning history. I hope that ,by researching and discussing deeply, it can promote history—teaching forward, and we can find an effective and useful path to develop the students'creation and practical ability.This article is divided into four sections:Section 1: Based on the task and significance of history teaching in middle school, the article states that it is important to cultivate the geography concept and sense to the students, including the present situation.Section 2: Based on connecting the knowledge, arousing interest, improving thought and practical ability, environment and so on ,the article states the purpose and the realistic significance so as to cultivate the geography concept and sense to the students in history teaching.Section 3: The article mainly discusses the methods or the ways to cultivate the geography concept and sense to the students in history teaching, introducing how to use the geography maps, when we can do some proper exploration and how to use the modern education technology.Section 4: The article tells us which problems we should pay attention to when we cultivate the geography concept and sense to the students in history teaching and some requirements to the history teachers.According to the above research, I suggest that all the educators, who are teaching history in middle school, concern more about cultivating the geography concept and sense to the students in practical history teaching. We should, from history teaching, break the limit of subjects, conduct the students how to use the history and geography knowledge and analyze some problems combined with geography from different parts, realizing our purpose of developing the students'creation and practical ability.
