Situation refers to relative or combined circumstances in a certain period of time. Teaching situation is a basic component of classroom teaching. An important work for classroom teaching is to create teaching situations. Creating valuable teaching situations is vital to ensure the smooth teaching process. The creation of geography teaching situation is method and process for teacher to stimulate students’ interest in learning, help students understand the knowledge, and introduce and creatively design proper situation combined with the specific teaching content in geography teaching process, so as to achieve the teaching goal quickly and efficiently. The teaching concept of the creation of geography teaching situation has a long history. Under the background of new curriculum reform, in order to effectively implement the geography classroom teaching and improve the quality of teaching, it is very important to study of situational creation in specific classroom teaching. Therefore,"Study on the creation of situational geography teaching under the new curriculum concept", as the title of the subject, was used for systematic analysis and discussion.This article includes six parts. It is specifically divided into six chapters and elaborated. The main contents of this article are as follows:Chapter1is introduction which is about background, significance, literature review, idea and method of this article.Chapter2talks about the related basic theories and defines the basic concepts. This article defines the connotation of the situation related to this article, including teaching situation and the teaching situation creation. Meantime, the basic theories of this research are also introduced.Chapter3describes main types of geography teaching situation. According to different teaching contents, teaching situations are classified as story situation, problem situation, activity situation, poetry situation, multimedia situation, etc. Chapter4reviews several common misunderstandings in creation of geography teaching situation. In this part, several misunderstandings in the process of the geography teaching situation are summarized, including formal teaching situation, adult teaching situation, active teaching situation, virtualized teaching situation, scenarized teaching situation, etc.Chapter5introduces the basic principles which need to be followed of creation of geography teaching situation, including acceptability principle, authenticity principle, heuristic principle, scientificity principle, etc.Chapter6is conclusion summarizing the creation of geography teaching situation in junior middle school. In this chapter, the main view is summarized and the deficiencies of this research are pointed out, simultaneously, the future research orientation and prospect are indicated.
