| The reform of courses in GuiLin is started as far back as several years ago right away in some places, such as QingFeng Experimental Middle School. The reform of new course began to be carried out in large scale within the whole city in 2004. As a middle school in-service geography teacher, I can feel the big impact on our subject from it. The students think that geography is very difficult to learn, including the students now in Senior II and Senior III. why is that? Is geography that difficult to learn really? After looking into the case we discovered: One important cause is that there is something wrong with our students'styles of learning geography, and a change from traditional styles is needed, So we must proposes the style adapting to learning of the new course reforms actively. The traditional Styles of Learning Geography are mainly the following: 1st, a type of passivity accepts , 2nd, a type of reproducing copies , 3rd, a type of book-worms.The New Course Reform this time try hard to change this aspect of centering on teachers , classroom and books step by step originally; and to turn the former recipient simple styles of learning geography into the varieties of styles of learning geography which may move and bring the students'initiative into play; to change the Styles of Learning from traditional into modern; to propose the students to learn geography in variety, in different arrangement, and in different points of view, using the styles of exploring learning, cooperative learning, practical learning, and autonomous learning between teachers and students, or students and students. The students can learn geography more actively through internet, their lives or reality, not only their teachers. Thus the students may feel that geography is one subject of life which is useful throughout all their lives. So they will double their interest in geography and they may make greater progress in geography. The thesis consists of five parts.Part I. Preface.
