| At present, many researchers pay close attention to teacher's development. Theyhave discussed this matter from different viewpoints. According to the currentsituation, the thesis considers that the network world is a good place for the teacher'sdevelopment.In this thesis, the network world is a kind of fictitious world composed of variouseducational websites, which called E (Educational)—Space. It is a kind of symbolictextual world. In this world, netizens (teachers) can do what they want to do. Forexample, they can talk or exchange with each other freely by characters or symbols,they can release their emotional tension. Here, everything is in text mode, such asknowledge, people's emotions and sentiments, and all kinds of actions.With the base of the distinguishing features of E—Space, this thesis focuses on thestudy of the relationship between E—Space and the self-directed development ofteachers. In order to make itself understood, this thesis takes the websitehttp://www.eduol.cn for example, and chooses some netizens (teachers) form it to bethe cases. During the process of analyzing these teachers' typical texts with themethod of hermeneutics, we find that, E—Space, including the websitehttp://www.eduol.cn is a good place for the development of teachers. In this space, theteachers obtain great development by way of talk or exchange with each other throughsymbols, of writing and thinking. The principles of their development are reflectionand combining writing with thinking. And from the characteristics of theirdevelopment, the essay points out that the development of teachers is a kind ofself-directed development. It also points out in E—Space, the self-directeddevelopment of teachers has its own unique characteristics.There are five parts in this thesis. The first part is introduction part which gives awhole picture about this assay. It introduces the intention and method of the research,mentions the key definition and illustrates the main research significance of the thesis.The second part gives us a brief introduction about the distinguishing features ofE—Space and the website http://www.eduol.cn. The third part focuses on thedevelopment of teachers which happened in this website. It also analyzes the waysand principles of their development. In the forth part, the characteristics ofself-directed development of teachers in the E-Space are given. And the last part is theconclusion part, which states the conclusion of the research. Seeing that there are stillmany problems, the research needs an in-depth study. |
