The General Secretary Hu Jintao put forward outlook on socialisthonor and disgrace of "Eight Honors and Eight Disgraces". To beginwith, socialist honors and disgraces not only represents value mind ofthe advanced culture, but also enriches and develop the contents ofscientific development mind which is emphasized the care of humanneeds of proposition. And it is a necessary requirement of buildingharmonious society. Secondly, the significant duty and task of socialmoral building is charged with socialist honor and disgrace, which isimmaterial support of constructing harmonious campus. Furthermore,it is consistent with college students' development keenly.In otherwords, socialist honor and disgrace is a touchstone of collegestudents' ideology and moral building. Therefore, the education ofSocialist honor and disgrace is quite important part of politics andideology education. We must strengthen the education of honor anddisgrace in a college according to socialist honor and disgrace, andemphasis on the approach choices to education is primary, in whichpractice is pivotal, and system is regarded as a safeguard. With aprofound understanding of its connotation, we create an advantageoussurroundings and put forth a long-term mechanism. The consciousnessof building up socialist honor and disgrace viewpoint will beimproved. So we lead college students to use their knowledge to serveour country, serve people, contribute their youth to serving oursocialist modern cause.Based on the background and significance of which was putforward socialist honor and disgrace of "Eight Honor and EightDisgrace", the thesis analyzes the concept and characteristic of honorand disgrace,socialist honor and disgrace, compares honor anddisgrace with value concept, social civilization, looks for cultural genes of socialist honor and disgrace between traditional Chineseculture and Western culture, and attaches importance to the essentialcharacteristic of socialist honor and disgrace. Furthermore, the thesisemphasizes on the status and the function of socialist honor anddisgrace from the point of view of macroscopically, middle-skeptical,and microcosmic aspect, analyzes college students positive andpassive behavior in view of socialist honor and disgrace, raises thequestion of which college students exist in honor and disgrace,alternatively studies education approaches and means by whichcollege students are taught socialist honor and disgrace. The thesis isdivided into 5 parts:Part One: The background and the significance of socialist honorand disgrace of "Eight Honor and Eight Disgrace". Part Two: TheMeaning and characteristic of honor and disgrace versus socialisthonor and disgrace. Part Three: The Meaning and Characteristic ofeducation on the socialist honor and disgrace. Part Four: Theeducational important Status and Function of the socialist honor anddisgrace. Part Five: The educational Approaches and Means ofcarrying on the socialist honor and disgrace.
