Discussing On Literacy Involved In Physics Education

The scientific educational reform of the modern world aims the training of all students' high scientific literacy as its own goal. The level of scientific literacy of national citizens of a country directly affects the development of science and technology of the country. Many people believe that, the synthesis power of a country has close relations with the national citizens' scientific literacy. In recent years, in the reform of our elementary education, scientific literacy was written in course standards numerously and confusedly. We should use a proper valuation as a guarantee if we want to apply the idea and target of scientific literacy in our physics course.This article starts from the research history and current situation of scientific literacy, and then analyses scientific literacy concept and connotation detailedly. Establish limpid keynote for the discussion of physics involved literacy. Scientific literacy is a part of more stable personality characteristics that people forms basic on experiencing, is individual's fundamental ability on facing and handling things about science rationally.Basic on these, we suggest that we can discuss science literacy about physics by physics involved literacy. We summarizes physics involved literacy definition being: Cognition , concept and method system individual stably held, which was developed when experiencing the process of Knowledge studying, knowledge applies , observation, research , thought, communicates and judges about physics. And, the main target field applying was the field of elementary education.In the following part, the writer discuss on the concept of physics involved literacy and some issue about the application of physics involved literacy. Pave the road for design and discuss the appraise index system of physics involved literacy. And at last, I try to design a appraise index system for physics involved literacy according with John D.Miller's suggestion ( which has been admitted by the international society nowadays, the people's science literacy should include at least the following three aspects: (1) Basic understanding of the scientific term and basic conception; (2) Basic understanding of the scientific research course; (3) Basic understanding of the social influence on science. ) . And discuss the infection on physics education.
