This thesis adopts the methods of fieldwork, social statistics and individual study to conduct an investigation into the Hui people divorce condition of the Guyuan city which lies in the southern part of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, develops backwards, and the majority of the inhabitants are Hui people. Through consulting the relevant documents and on-the-spot investigations, the paper approaches the characteristics of the divorce condition of Guyuan city as follows: Firstly, after implementing the policy of the Economic Reform and Open-door the divorce rate is declining, which is on the contrary with the rising tendency of our country. Secondly, under the influence of urban-rural economic structure and traditional countryside culture for a very long period , the Hui people living in countryside .compared with the Hui people living in urban areas, shows its own features on the aspects of divorce rate, divorce motivation, divorce age and so on. Thirdly, it is a common phenomenon that the stability of intermarriage between Hui people and Han people is weak, and the divorce rate is relatively high. Forth, in the divorce lawsuit cases of Guyuan city, women take a majority part of the persecution, but there are large space for the reconciliation. Basing on those characteristics, the paper merges the knowledge of sociology, psychology, ethnology to carry out a monographic research to the Guyuan city on the following aspects: the historical changes of Hui people divorce in Guyuan city ,the divorce characteristics of urban Hui people, the divorce condition of intermarriage-family, the initiative and predicament of Hui women in the process of divorce.
