The textbook, as the most important course, is the basic writing for student learning mathematics and teacher teaching mathematics , to great extent influences the success or failure of mathematics course reforming. Since Beijing Normal University edition textbook is trying out, it causes the very big dispute. The Singapore curriculum and textbook is high concerned by the whole world .Number and algebra is one of important domain in mathematics . So a comparative research of "number and algebra" domain of Beijing Normal University press and Singapore textbooks is carried on.The methods of documental and comparative research are used in this thesis. By way of the comparison of structure with content, compiling idea and important formula manipulation, this thesis concludes out common and different parts of the two editions textbooks, and thus some trains of thought can be provided to the developing direction of our country mathematics textbook and teaching.The conclusion of this research are: (1) The two editions textbooks all adopt the arranging sequence that the spiral moves upward, but the difference is bigger. The Beijing Normal University edition textbook (The former) is not laid stress on the content linking up and the logic sequence. Singapore textbook (The latter) is laid stress on knowledge linking up , and concerns that student carries on the analogy to knowledge. Installation of two editions textbooks exercise all has the fixed administrative levels to be differentiated, but the former exercise capacity is fewer, and the latter exercise capacity is more, and is favor of teacher to grasp the degree of difficulty and the degree of differentiating of good examination with student. (2)The former lays stress on with student for the center, the change of student learning method, the cognition characteristic of student, and the contact of mathematics and reality life. The latter is laid stress on the system of knowledge, the occurring developing course of knowledge itself, the knowledge learned being contacted from beginning to end, and pays attention to cultivate student to the feeling inference ability in the knowledge developing course. The former is very hard controlling the teaching course, and needs teacher to organize and lead the classroom of student to discuss and exchange. And The latter controls the teaching course easily. The two edition textbooks lay stress on use of calculator, problem solving, mathematics contact with practice, communicative activities. (3) The former is not enough given students examples for formula deducing, the latter is inverse, and it is not stressing on the change of student learning method, the knowledge linking up of the latter is better than the former.What is from the comparison research of the two editions textbooks, and give the former some enlightenments of textbook compiling and teaching: (1)The former should be laid stress on knowledge leading that is not only to set about from the life, but formula and theorem etc, and lets student form the ability of feeling inference, and has entire confidence to knowledge; Leaving the space for student thinking deeply will be suitably; Increase exercise capacity to some extent. (2)Teacher needs to carry on the nimble processing to the textbook, and let students' thought jump by the question circumstances; Teacher should nimbly select the teaching method; This research of school should lay stress on the teaching method, compiling textbook and development of exercise studies etc.
