With the deepening of the new curriculum reform,the "Mathematics Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2011 Edition)"(Hereinafter referred to as the "Standard(2011))has pointed out the direction for the new round of mathematics education reform,junior high school mathematics textbooks have also been r evamped throughout the country,and various versions of new textbooks have appeared in various test areas throughout the country.After the revision of junior high school mathematics textbooks,it was found that the content of graphics and geometry was the most controversial.In this paper,we select two editions of junior high school mathematics textbooks,the "PEP-edition" and the "ECNU-edition",and compare their "Graphs and Geometry" sections,the similarities and differences between the two versions of the textbook were identified.First,this paper introduces the background of the study,the significance of the study,the research method,the content of the study,and the literature review,so as to lay the foundation for the next comparison of the content of the two versions of junior high school mathematics textbooks "graphs and geometry".Second,a comparative study of the "Graphing and Geometry" section of the two versions of the junior high school mathematics textbooks was conducted in four areas:embodiment of the objectives in the Standards(2011),curriculum content,structure,examples and exercises,and the following conclusions were drawn.(1)Standard Objectives: Both versions of middle school mathematics materials meet the requirements of the standards in the four areas of knowledge and skills,mathematical thinking,problem solving,and affective attitudes,while each has its own characteristics.(2)Curriculum content: The overall structure of the curriculum of both versions of the junior high school mathematics textbooks is generally the same,but the "PEP-edition" pays more attention to the combination of teaching materials and modern educational technology,emphasizing the understanding of mathematical problems from real life,and adding a narrator section to the textbook in emphasis.The "ECNU-edition" pays more attention to the fundamentals and universality of the material,emphasizes inspiring and guiding students to conduct observation and inquiry from the students' perspective,and focuses on adding illustrations to the textbook.(3)Structure: The main parts of the structure of the two versions of junior high school mathematics textbooks are the same,and both have a characteristic structure with different contents,but the content of the application of information technology part has been added to the textbook of the "PEP-edition".(4)Examples and exercises: The "PEP-edition" pays more attention to the improvement of students' ability of self-inquiry when writing examples and exercises,while the " ECNU-edition" pays more attention to the cultivation of students' basic knowledge when writing examples and exercises.Finally,the comparative study of the two versions of junior high school mathematics textbooks is summarized as well as the outlook for the follow-up,hoping to help teachers better focus on the system of writing different versions of textbooks,interpret different versions of textbooks,and provide more options and possibilities for teaching.
