| It was my honor to be sent to Adelaide university in Australia for further study on English language from June to September last year. The teaching method called cooperative learning that our foreign teacher gave us lessons with impresses me a lot. During my visit to the local high schools in Australia, I also found it was common to use such teaching method during the periods of classes. Group activities are becoming more and more popular all over the world. Many teachers has gone into research and discussion on cooperative learning methods that can help their students learn more effectively and happily in groups and enhance comprehensive progress. Introducing this methodology is necessary when the new teaching reform is on in China nowadays .The thesis makes an investigation and analysis on the present English teaching situations and teaching background of senior high school stating its necessity and significance of cooperative leaning according to the observation and research for the advanced teaching ideas in western countries. In addition, it also includes the cause of this method, theory bases , the organization for it , the application to my own practical teaching, the results of practice ,problems happening in teaching and the ways of solving problems . There are 5 chapters in the thesis. Chapter one states the necessity , significance of cooperative learning and questions ; Chapter two gives the detailed information for it ;Chapter three puts emphasis on procedures of organization; Chapter four gives the application to practical teaching; Chapter five raises questions and has some discussion. It is thought that cooperative learning is a most efficient teaching theory and strategy, which has a great effect on improving the class atmosphere and enhance the study scores for most students. what' s more, it also fosters the students' non-recognition quality greatly. Cooperative learning is the inevitable result of teaching development, as teachers, we need to keep on practicing and accumulating , making the students not only improve English study skills but also strengthen the concept of cooperating with others and realizing the quality education that new teaching reform puts emphasis on . |
