Researchers and teachers focus their attention on"cultivating students'ability to analyze and solve problems"rather than"cultivating students'ability to raise problems", which is one of qualifying education goals currently."Ability to raise problems"usually is regarded as one of part of scientific teaching practice. Few studies stressed the cultivation of this ability, and fewer studies took scientific inquiry as one of effective way to cultivate ability. Combined with junior middle school scientific inquiry and cultivating ability to raise problems theoretically, this research, I put forward some hypothese, and use scientific method to prove them.Initially I surveyed the situation of junior middle school students'ability to raise problems with a questionnaire and found disappointing results. Of 236 subjects, only 15% students expressed"often find and raise problems". After I had talk to some students who"sometimes raise problems"and"never or never almost raise problems", I classified them as three categories, namely, those not willing to raise problems, those dare not do so, and those cannot do so. Afterwards I probed the reason.Based on modern psychology ,theory of education and the results of my survey, I designed a teaching mode and related teaching strategies which aimed to cultivating students'ability to raise problems. I did a three-month one-factor empirical research in my teaching process. The research indicated that the experiment class was superior to the controlled class in the number of students who raise problems, the number of problems and the quality of problems after three month training. Consequently, students'physics proficiency, along with their ability to raise problems, made progress dramatically.Lastly I came to conclusion after rethinking the research from theory level and experiment level. I pointed out the limitations in my research and put forward some suggestions for future researchers.
