In the times of high-speed development of knowledge and economy, society faces the great challenge that we've never seen. Under such circum stances, all countries in the world are having course reform. In our country, we are also having the first course reform. The new reform raises a new question to the teachers who are the principal part of the reform. The question is how the teachers should follow the requirements of the new times and the new reform, then improve their level of knowledge and develop their major subject.This thesis is based on the research of the geography teachers in two counties in Bayanor. It analyses the contemporary state of the teachers and finds the distance between the old and new curriculums. Then it analyses the reasons for the shortage and gives the advice of how to strengthen the teachers'professional development before the new course change.This thesis consists of four parts:â… . The raising of the question of teachers'professional development. It gives us the concept and inner importance and why. I raise the question.â…¡. The requirements that the new reform asks for the geography teachers.â…¢. The analysis of the contemporary state of the geography teachers and the reasons why the state has come into being.â…£. This is the main part. It is based on the principles and the contents and methods. Then it analyses the following problems:1. Improve the teachers'professions of development under the circumstances of the new course reform.2. Accelerate the geography teachers'professional development by training in their own schools.3. Accelerate the geography teachers'Professional development by evaluating the geography teaching and studying.4. Accelerate the geography teachers'own strategy of professional development.The author of this thesis is trying her best to do some creative work in accelerating the geography teachers'professional developing strategy. And it tries to throw some enlightenment for the teachers in non-developed and basic level districts. The author hopes that it will be helpful to the fellow teachers.
