A Study On The Regional Characteristics In The University Cultural Construction

Firstly, this article illustrates the influence brought by the regional characteristics on the university cultural construction through defining university culture and regional characteristics, together with analyzing the relationship between them. Based on it, the regional characteristics of university culture is deeply investigated. It is proposed that the regional characteristics are the foothold and the basic feature of university culture decided by socialist culture. With its own independent characteristics, the university shouldn't and couldn't avoid being infiltrated by regional characteristics. The regional characteristics must be taken into consideration and the splendid cultural resources must be found out to cultivate a healthy university culture. By combining its own cultural tradition of the university and the characteristics of the region, the university culture will have regional characteristics both in form and content. Secondly, the characteristics of regional culture and the current situation of developing university culture are analyzed. Some specific ways are supposed to cultivate university culture by making full use of the regional culture. It's noted that the regional characteristics can be embodied by both spiritual and material civilization construction. Meanwhile, It's pointed out that the influence caused by the conflicts between university culture and the regional culture should be minimized and whether to adopt or abandon, to accept or refuse should be carefully dealt with.This study is based on sound theories and take Shandong University of Technology as the example. This university enhanced the local culture, that is, Qilu culture, in its cultural construction. As a result, this article has both theoretical and realistic significance.
