The deep culture inside story and the superior geographical environment in Hunan Province have provided the advantageous condition for the foot orienteering.This topic mainly used the methods of questionnaire survey, the interview, literature scientific research, logical analytic, mathematical statistic and so on, in the area of the south Hunan, the central Hunan, the north Hunan, and the western Hunan, about the progress of foot orienteering, by the sample investigation research. Altogether pull s out 24 schools, 96 teachers, 480students. The findings indicated that the majority schools have no special fund for competing and the training, in aspects of location equipment, training and competition, surpasses the key middle school have advantaged over the city key and the general school; the gym instructors have accepted the foot orienteering to a high degree, but their scientific research ability is generally low, and the majority has not been trained; About the degree of foot orienteering, on the level of "is interested very much", the female student surpasses the male student, but in "is interested", the male student of likely degree is higher than the female student obviously; the age of the student, who participatedin foot orienteering, has limited universally and shortly, times of the training are few, grasping comprehensive technical is bad; the student is injured in the training mainly by the plant abrasion; the student guardian approves of the human must compare human more than which does not approve of.
