With the core concept "ceremony culture", the thesisdiscusses the ceremonial characteristics of the Chinesetraditional dance and nation folk dance, Then, from the aspectof present traditional dance arrangement and dance teaching, thethesis further discusses the application of the ceremonialcharacteristics of the Chinese traditional dance in present dancearrangement and dance teaching. And have taken this as basis, thethesis suggests that the current dancing arts worker ought to setup one kind of "culture dance" concept, The thesis consists offour chapters:In the first chapter, the thesis demonstrates that in theearly ceremonial life and dance arts, Chinese people believedvarious social practice activities were developed out of theetiquette and custom because of the political and culturalfeatures of the combination of Chinese memorial ceremony andpolitical affair, and of the structure in which the country andthe family co-existed. What' s more, most of these socialactivities needed to be operated by the form of music and danceperformance. Therefore, these ceremonies produced the dance artswhich was an inseparable part of the whole ceremony and directly served for the early ceremonial activities.In the second chapter, the thesis introduces and analyzes theceremonial characteristics of the Chinese dance in the early stagefrom four aspects: the origin, the analysis of dance' sacceptation, the ceremonial function and the occasion forperformance.For the third chapters, the thesis introduces and analyzesthe ceremonial characteristics of the Chinese folk dance from theceremonial dance performance of three folk ceremonies: sorcery,sacrifice and custom.On the basis of the previous three chapters, the thesis statesa point that ceremoniousness is not only one of the ceremonialdance's characteristics but also a basic property of dance. Danceis a production of a special historical era. Every nation' stypical cultural dance was often formed at its "childhood" andserved as major means for every nation to cognize the world anditself. The sorcery content and the marks of totem belief haveinevitable influences on different nation' s dance. Althoughdance in the afterwards not being used for various ceremonialculture, the ceremoniousness of fundamental elements in Chineseearly dance such as dance act, structure, facial expression etc.has been inherited by various means and absorbed as the basic elements and materials for the production of the latter dance.Thus, ceremoniousness is not only the fundamental property of theChinese dance in the early stage but also of the whole dance arts.In the last chapter, the thesis focuses on the enlightenmentof Chinese traditional dance' s ceremonial characteristics formodern traditional dance teaching and discusses the relationshipbetween these two parts. In the conclusion, the thesis states thatin the creation and teaching of traditional dance, two aspectsare hoped to be emphasized: first, the correct understanding ofceremonial meaning in the traditional dance; second, thediscovery, utilization and promotion of the dance' s ceremonialmeaning, and this will attribute to the creation of the dancework of traditional custom and modern consciousness.
