On Teachers' Individual Educational Ideals

In the long history of human education, the ideal of education has always been an inexhaustible power for human education to surmount educational reality. The educational history can be said to be the history of the development and realization of the ideal of education,The ideal of education is of great significance for the development of education. In this paper, we are mainly to do some research in these problems such as the nature and structure of the ideal of education, the changing characteristics of the ideal of education in the process of teachers'growth, the relationship between the ideal of education and the design of teachers'personal happiness in their educational lives, teachers'taking concrete actions to achieve happiness in educational life, school management services for teachers to achieve a happy educational life, and so on.First, through the analysis of concepts of ideals and different understandings of individual teachers, The educational ideal is defined as follows :it is based on criticism and negation of the reality of education, certain people have their own thinking and advanced construction, and they are also full of predesign and expectation of human and social fine development state and imagination and prospects of the beautiful educational picture in future. On this basis, we make a study of the nature and functions of educational ideals, the factors that have effect on teachers'individual educational ideals and so on. In this paper we raise an issue that the ideal of education is to achieve ideal education and ideal education is a carrier to make educational ideals come true. The ideal of education which is keeping up with tide will help teachers to improve their existing views to students and knowledge and prompt teachers to cultivate high-minded personalities, form unique teaching characters and enhance the quality of educational life.Secondly, we make an analysis on the dynamic changes of teachers'individual educational ideals during the growth of teachers. In the process of teachers'growth, teachers'individual educational ideals are not stable but in a dynamic change. The dynamic change of teachers'individual educational ideals originates from teachers'experience in their educational life, their identification and understanding of educational work, teachers'own backgrounds and so on. By analyzing the interview materials with teachers of different ages, an excellent teacher's growth can be divided into the following stages: preparation stage, adaptation stage, rapid development and stabilization stage, stagnation and withdrawal stage, sustainable development stage. Teachers show different teaching characters and behavioral features in different stages, as far as educational ideals are concerned, teachers gradually adapt to the rapid development and establish educational ideals from the preparation stage, full of ideals and aspirations to a stage in which teachers'ideals are suffering setbacks after the impact. Simultaneously, teachers can overcome their shakiness of educational ideals in the stagnation and withdrawal stage, in pursuit of the values of their own in life to achieve happiness.Finally, we have a model of teachers'educational life and point out the paths for teachers to take concrete actions to achieve happiness in life of education, providing schools'managements and services for teachers to achieve a happy life. Teacher's happy educational life lies in their own designs and actions. A happy educational life is very broad in scope, and it often depends on one's value judgment to educational life. The view that "Only when a person's value is realized will it be possible to achieve happiness," runs through the education process for teachers to design and achieve happiness, and is also embodied in the schools'managements and services. However, teachers'individual educational ideals may encounter different difficulties in the reality of education. Our teachers must energetically deal with the contradiction between their individual educational ideals and the reality of education and must be with an open mind, they can generate their own educational ideals which conform to times.
