A Tentative Study On The Combination Between History Teaching And The Local History Of BaoTou

With the entry of the 21st century and the fast global development of economy, different kinds of cultures are mixed to each other. The world is moving towards multipolarization. In this kind of situation, how to preserve and develop the tradition of Chinese culture to arouse the students'feeing of patriotism is becoming an important problem that we can't evade in the education of history.The education of the provincialism can help the students build a perfect character, to develop the right attitude of life, values and the sense of patriotism. Just as what Suchomlinski has mentioned, the students'feeing of loving their homes, their schools and their hometowns will be developed into the cognition of the profounded society, recognizing the concepts of their motherland with rational knowledge.Just as teaching experience shows, the students mostly are more concerned about the people and things about their own hometown in the textbook. To them, those persons or things are more related to their living circumstances or something happening in the same place as theirs, so they feel more cordial. Our homeland is a country with a long history and magnificent culture. Almost in every area there are some brillinant examples in politics, economy, science as well as culture. More or less there are some vestiges of a castor. There go different stories in history. To take advantages of these materials of provincialism can not only arouse the feeling of loving their mother town and their motherland, but also it can strong their the cognition of history. While developing the students'abilities of research, creaticity and practice, we can improve the accomplishment of humanism. The city of Baotou lies to the north of Yin Mountain on the bank of the Yellow River. It is easy for people to reach the city of Beijing and TianJin by way of BaoTou located in an important position in the Northwest of china, the city forms unigue scenery with beautiful mountains winding around it, which was a long history.We can see from the teaching experience that if we can combine the history teaching with the teaching of local history, the students'knowledge of history can surely be improved much. That is why I want to write this essay!In this essay, I want to expond the combination between history teaching and the local history in BaoTou in theory and in practice. First, I analyse the importance of learning the local history, the possibility and the theoretical basis. According to my own experience in teaching, I want to make sure that we should teach the local history while teaching history in senior high school. With the advanced educational ideas and theories, we should take proper measures to reach the aims of teaching. While teaching, we should put more emphasis on the combination between history teaching and the teaching of local history; thus, the main purpose of teaching cannot be weakened. When the students are interested, their patriotism can be aroused. This method should fit in with the psychology charactors of the acceptance of the students. I am sure if this method can be popularized and widely used, it may certainly play an important role in the reform of history teaching.
