Since the 21st century, assistants in college and its concerned have been paid much attention to by the Party and the government, which has been an important subject in higher education. The psychological assistance ability of assistants is a kind of main ability for assistants in high college, whether it is high or low will affect the assistants'attitude towards their work, occupation accidie and work pressure and so on. psychological assistance is different from psychological consultation and psychological treatment, its goal is the development of students aiming at all the college students and individuals. We can infer that the psychological assistance ability of college assistants play a vital part in the overall quality education among college students. But the study on the structure of psychological assistance ability of assistants in high college is rare so far.The study uses the structure of general ability and special ability and the principle that knowledge and skill can transfer each other for reference, analyses the basic process of psychological assistance activity and forms a structure for psychological assistance, which includes some ability factors in the process of psychological assistance, some concrete psychological assistance ability, some basic knowledge, skills and some special knowledge and skills in dealing with problems. Draw its structure chart according to these factors hoping to comprehend the relationship between psychological assistance and every ability factor.The study forms a structure of psychological assistance ability on the basis of literature summary and theories concerned, which contains eight dimensionalities such as scene consciousness ability, problem solving ability, problem observing and diagnosing ability, perception ability of measure and scheme, communication ability, building assistance relationship ability and adaptation ability. The study uses the questionnaire and interview, chooses the subjects to investigate and interview and makes up this questionnaire including 46 items. The questionnaire has better reliability and validity through the tests in statistics.1. Among all these abilities, problem observing and diagnosing ability of college psychological assistants is a better important ability. Assistant can know about the needs of the students and develop the assistance activity pertinently.2. In general, high college assistants in our region are mainly mid-youth teachers, and it is reasonable in the professional job title.3. High college assistants'psychological assistance ability has significant difference only on four factors in the aspect of gender, in other factors no significant difference.4. High college assistants'psychological assistance ability is improving as they age.5 High college assistants'psychological assistance ability is improving as their teaching years increase and professional job titles promote, and displays some differences.So, we put forward some advice: (1) Master educational guiding lines, figure out the goal of education and cultivation, and pay attention to the formation of students'quality. (2) Reinforce the training of basic theories for college assistants, letting them master some basic psychological assistance methods and skills. (3) Reinforce the training of their psychological assistance ability, emphasize the idea of assistance about sex, put an eye on the continuous development of students. (4) Reinforce the specialization construction of high college assistants, ensure their treatments in professional job titles and salary.
